Oct 15,  · Everyone knows 'The Entertainer', which appears here in both piano and orchestral versions. But I like the breezy 'Easy Winners' and the lilting, poignant 'Solace' better. Filling out the album are some very good tracks composed by Hamlisch -- not rags, but they fit the tone well/5(2).

The soundtrack to the Paul Newman-Robert Redford blockbuster The Sting popularized Scott Joplin's classic ragtimes for a new generation, thanks to Marvin Hamlisch's ingenious arrangements and grunge.moginnyohnyodal.infoinfo's brilliance takes the forefront, which is the way it should be, but it's easy to underestimate what Hamlisch achieved with his orchestrations.8/
